RESTAURANT

This is a subject that I cover in several lessons.On the first class (which lasts 40 min in my country) we learn  the new vocabulary associated with the topic restaurant.On the next lesson we read a handout with phrases which students should decide if they are said by a waiter or a customer.On another lesson ss listen to a dialogue in a  restaurant,and try to fill in the blanks with some of the useful vocabulary in order to practice it.I found a useful video with Mr .Bean that covers some of the needed vocabulary.I gave the ss a handout with mixed sentences and gap sentences  that describe the situation.They fill in the gaps and put the sentences in the right order.One class is reserved for a group work when they make a menu for their imaginary restaurant,another class is for writing dialogues for a real situation in a restaurant(now they use the previous handouts with phrases and dialogues) and the last one is for a role play.Hope you find these ideas interesting and useful.
